How to Choose the Mattress for your Sofa Bed

High Quality Mattresses for Comfortable Sofa Beds

A high quality sofa bed mostly stands out for its mattresses and mechanisms. The design of a sofa bed must go beyond looks: one of the essential requirements is comfort, followed by functionality and an easy to use opening system. These are the main feature you have to consider when you purchase a sofa bed.
The fundamental characteristics are two: comfort and the load-bearing capacity of mattress and seat. We are in fact talking about a furniture item designed to carry out two functions: sofa and bed. We want to be able to seat down on a sofa and spend time with family and friends, or to lie down on it to watch tv or read a book. When we lie down on a bed, we expect it to be cosy and to hold us while we abandon ourselves to a restoring sleep.
Milano Bedding sofa beds are designed and manufactured to suit all these needs in the same way, also taking into consideration those who use these items on a daily basis. This is why for almost all the models of the collection it is possible to choose among a wide range of mattresses, and select the one that best fit your needs.

How to Choose the Right Mattress

Firm, soft, with springs, in polyurethane, memory foam or other materials? The right mattress is the one that best suit our needs. For this reason our mattresses provides different degrees of load bearing capacity and are made of different materials. While choosing the mattress take into consideration the kind of support you prefer, your weight, the room temperature and the body temperature.

Advices on the Mattress Care and Maintenance

Sofa bed mattresses endure more stress than a normal bed mattress; for this reason they require particular care to guarantee the product a longer life-span, and a high and steady comfort. Here's some suggestions, which include specific advices for the sofa bed of this collection:
• turn the mattresses upside down and head-to-feet frequently (excluding the models CMS Topper Memory, Latex-Foam, Memocomfort and the mattresses Frank, George, Jack, Bill, Chick, Gil, Glenn, Roger, Spencer, Willy);
• in case the sofa is used in a second house, it is best to leave it half open while you are not using it, in order to avoid keeping the mattress compressed for a long time;
• do not close the sofa bed leaving quilts or thick blankets inside

It is important to know that...

Over time, polyurethane mattresses can loose load-bearing capacity and lose shape in the folding areas. However, this only happen in a limited and acceptable way, because Milano Bedding uses only high density polyurethane foams that allows mattresses to go back, with a small degree of tolerance, to their original shape by simply leaving them open before use.

All the dimensions stated in each product card are intended with a tolerance of ± 1%. The mattresses height indicated is the one of their centre; a 2-3% width reduction is considered normal in case of a sporadic use.
